One Minute With…: The People Behind Great Teams

What makes a great team work when its members are hundreds of miles apart?

Technology helps. The right processes matter. But behind every successful distributed team, there are people building trust, communicating every day, solving problems together, and working toward shared goals.

At LinkAmerica, that human connection is at the heart of how we think about nearshore collaboration.

That’s why we’re introducing One Minute With…, a new short form series created to share the experiences and perspectives of the people who make those connections possible.

One minute. One person. One story.

One Minute With… brings together voices from across our community, from LinkAmerica team members and leadership to clients, partners, and collaborators.

Each episode asks a few simple questions about their experience: What makes a great team? What has surprised them about working across borders? What makes collaboration successful? And what can we learn from one another?

The answers are short, but the stories behind them speak to something bigger.

Through these conversations, we want to explore the human side of nearshore services: the relationships, communication, talent, and shared commitment that transform people working in different locations into one connected team.

And to start the conversation, we’re beginning with someone who experiences that collaboration every day.

One Minute With Paula Isaza

For our first episode, we sat down with Paula Isaza, Service Delivery Supervisor supporting LinkAmerica and Spectrotel, to talk about remote work, communication, and collaboration between teams.

For Paula, one of the greatest advantages of working remotely goes beyond flexibility. It’s the opportunity to collaborate with talented people across different locations while remaining connected and productive every day.

And when it comes to what successful teams have in common, her answer is simple: communication.

Regardless of department or location, strong communication helps teams build trust, solve problems, and accomplish their goals together.

That philosophy is also reflected in Paula’s day-to-day collaboration with the U.S. team. From responding together to urgent requests to documenting and improving operational processes, the relationship is built around teams working as one, regardless of where each person happens to be located.

Her experience highlights an important part of successful nearshore collaboration: proximity is valuable, but connection is what makes a team work.

More stories are coming

Paula’s story is just the beginning.

In upcoming episodes of One Minute With…, we’ll hear from more LinkAmerica team members, clients, leaders, partners, and collaborators about their experiences working across teams, cultures, and borders.

Different roles. Different perspectives. Different experiences.

But each one gives us another glimpse into the people and relationships behind the work we do every day.

One minute. One person. One story.
