Celebrating the mothers who build the present… and the future

Every year, during May, much of the world comes together to celebrate Mother’s Day as a time to recognize the love, dedication, and invaluable impact mothers have on our lives.

While countries like Costa Rica celebrate it in August, in places like Colombia, the United States, and many others, this occasion takes place on 10th May. Its modern origin dates to the early 20th century, when Anna Jarvis led an initiative in the United States to honor mothers, ultimately establishing it as a national holiday in 1914.

Today, beyond its history, Mother’s Day is an opportunity to recognize something that transcends generations: the essential role mothers play in every aspect of society, including the business and technology sectors.

Mothers who lead, innovate, and transform

In today’s workplace, mothers do more than balance family responsibilities; they are key drivers of organizational growth. Their adaptability, resilience, and leadership bring unique value to every team.

In industries like technology, where a gender gap has historically existed, more women, many of them mothers, are making a meaningful impact. According to various studies, women currently hold around 25% of technology roles globally, and that number continues to grow year after year.

Behind every project, every implementation, and every innovative solution, there are stories of dedication that go far beyond working hours.

Mothers who made history in technology

Over time, many women have shown that it’s possible to combine motherhood with highly influential careers in technology:

  • Susan Wojcicki, a mother of five and former CEO of YouTube, played a key role in shaping one of the world’s most influential platforms.
  • Sheryl Sandberg, a mother of two, helped drive Meta’s global expansion and has been a powerful voice for women in leadership.
  • Marissa Mayer, a mother and former CEO of Yahoo, led the company through a critical phase in its history.

These stories reflect a simple truth: motherhood does not limit professional impact, it redefines it.

A recognition that goes beyond borders

At LinkAmerica, we celebrate cultural diversity. We understand that dates may vary, but recognition is universal.

Today, we extend a special message to all the mothers in our team across Colombia, the United States, and other parts of the world celebrating this month. And of course, we also recognize those who will celebrate at different times of the year, such as in Costa Rica.

Because beyond the calendar, the value you bring is constant.

Thank you for making it possible

To all the mothers who are part of our team:

Thank you for your commitment.
 Thank you for your dedication.
Thank you for building a better future both inside and outside of work.

Your impact is reflected not only in results, but in the people, families, and communities you help grow every day.
