There are moments in life when business pauses and humanity takes center stage. My recent trip to Guatemala was one of those rare and beautiful occasions. I had the immense privilege of attending the wedding of Ana, the daughter of my long-time friend and LinkAmerica’s CEO, Andrés Ruzo.
To witness Andrés in this decisive chapter of his life, not as a leader, but as a proud and loving father, was deeply moving. There is something universal about a father’s quiet pride on his daughter’s wedding day; it transcends titles, borders, and roles. It was a celebration filled with joy, emotion, and the kind of happiness that embraces everyone present.
Guatemala itself felt like a character in the story. A land of breathtaking contrasts, vibrant culture, warm people, and landscapes that command reverence. Experiencing its natural richness was unforgettable, but nothing compares to watching a volcano erupt against the night sky. Fire meeting earth in a dramatic reminder of nature’s power; not something one has the privilege to witness every day. It was awe-inspiring, humbling, and strangely poetic alongside a celebration of new beginnings.
I’m sharing a few beautiful postcards from this journey, small glimpses of a trip that perfectly reflects what we often call LinkAmerica DNA: connection, family, culture, resilience, and shared joy.
To Ana and Russell Gordon, congratulations. From all of us at LinkAmerica, we wish you a life together that is successful, loving, and long. May it be filled with adventure, strength, and the same warmth that surrounded us in Guatemala.
Sincerely,
John Breen
